Mudam launched in 2007 the pluriannual programme Go East. This programme aims to constitute a fund of art works by artists from Eastern Europe. Not limited to the “new” adherent countries of the European Union, the project intends to cover a broad geographical unit, from the Baltic States to the Caucasus, from Russia to Central Asia. This exhibition is the occasion to reveal the state of this ambitious programme at mid-course, and show two works of art that have already been added to this fund: Dubbing (2001) by Roman Ondák and Lemniscate (2007) by Zilvinas Kempinas. Go East is also linked to the Collector’s Corner programme, documenting the relationships between Mudam and private collectors.
