Plaid Houses

Laure Tixier

18.12.08 – 02.03.09
MUDAM Luxembourg

The Plaid Houses Project by Laure Tixier starts with a series of drawings, representing various houses from the different geographical and historical contexts. The artist draws these houses for several years now. They are like a collection of various living environments: from the hut, over the castle, to futuristic architecture. Thought out, like the three dimensional large scale realisation of these environments, the Plaid Houses are made out of felt, reminding the houses children build with covers. Along this installation, Mudam shows a series of drawings by Laure Tixier exploring her ideas on architecture and urbanism.
Plaid Houses is shown in the framework of the project “Habiter” (Living), a series of installations reflecting the relationship between art and architecture, which will be presented in Mudam’s “Grand Hall” throughout the year 2009.
